A Free AtomKraft License for Everyone
by pberto. Average Reading Time: about a minute.
SIGGRAPH 2010, Los Angeles. /*jupiter jazz*/ announces that the first license of AtomKraft is given away for free, as in ‘beer’.
AtomKraft is the upcoming look development, lighting and rendering solution for the Foundry’s Nuke that enables VFX studios to alleviate the use of 3D packages for these parts of the production pipeline.
This special version, AtomKraft Give-it-a-Shot™, is a fully functional two threads license that is usable for commercial work (limited to 1 license per person/site). The pricing scheme for full, thread-unlimited licenses is now published. All licenses are floating and cross platform.
AtomKraft is scheduled for release 1.0 after SIGGRAPH2011 along with the free AtomKraft Give-it-a-Shot™ version.
The /*jupiter jazz*/ group hopes this move will create an incentive for smaller studios and individual artists to make use of this exciting technology.
The free license of AtomKraft is restricted to two threads and to 1 license per person or site only. AtomKraft will operate in thread-unlimited mode when ran without a license. In this mode the renderer superimposes a watermark on its images. The free license is time-limited but can be renewed at any time, free of charge, through the /*jupiter jazz*/ website.
